and so cause them to incur a penalty for guilt when they eat their holy offerings, for I am the Lord who sanctifies them.’”

“When a man’s head is bare so that he is balding in back, he is clean.

You must reside at the entrance of the Meeting Tent day and night for seven days and keep the charge of the Lord so that you will not die, for this is what I have been commanded.”

So they took what Moses had commanded to the front of the Meeting Tent and the whole congregation presented them and stood before the Lord.

You must not hate your brother in your heart. You must surely reprove your fellow citizen so that you do not incur sin on account of him.

So do not make the land vomit you out because you defile it just as it has vomited out the nations that were before you.

Then Moses said, “This is what the Lord has commanded you to do so that the glory of the Lord may appear to you.”

You must not give any of your children as an offering to Molech, so that you do not profane the name of your God. I am the Lord!

“‘If your brother becomes impoverished with regard to you so that he sells himself to you, you must not subject him to slave service.

Do not profane your daughter by making her a prostitute, so that the land does not practice prostitution and become full of lewdness.

So they placed him in custody until they were able to make a clear legal decision for themselves based on words from the mouth of the Lord.

I will send the wild animals against you and they will bereave you of your children, annihilate your cattle, and diminish your population so that your roads will become deserted.

You must obey my charge to not practice any of the abominable statutes that have been done before you, so that you do not defile yourselves by them. I am the Lord your God.’”

So the priest will make atonement on his behalf before the Lord and he will be forgiven for whatever he has done to become guilty.”

I will give you your rains in their time so that the land will give its yield and the trees of the field will produce their fruit.

and he is to send the live bird away outside the city into the open countryside. So he is to make atonement for the house and it will be clean.

“‘Thus you are to set the Israelites apart from their impurity so that they do not die in their impurity by defiling my tabernacle which is in their midst.

“‘You must be sure to obey all my statutes and regulations, so that the land to which I am about to bring you to take up residence there does not vomit you out.

They must keep my charge so that they do not incur sin on account of it and therefore die because they profane it. I am the Lord who sanctifies them.

“Tell Aaron and his sons that they must deal respectfully with the holy offerings of the Israelites, which they consecrate to me, so that they do not profane my holy name. I am the Lord.
