John’s disciples informed him about all these things. So John called two of his disciples

For just as Jonah became a sign to the people of Nineveh, so the Son of Man will be a sign to this generation.

Just as it was in the days of Noah, so too it will be in the days of the Son of Man.

So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, because Jesus was going to pass that way.
