Someone asked him, “Lord, will only a few be saved?” So he said to them,

Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish the tower, all who see it will begin to make fun of him.

He was longing to eat the carob pods the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.

As he was entering a village, ten men with leprosy met him. They stood at a distance,

Now people were even bringing their babies to him for him to touch. But when the disciples saw it, they began to scold those who brought them.

As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, “Why are you untying that colt?”

He answered, “I tell you, if they keep silent, the very stones will cry out!”

So he sent another slave. They beat this one too, treated him outrageously, and sent him away empty-handed.

“Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription are on it?” They said, “Caesar’s.”

Now some Sadducees (who contend that there is no resurrection) came to him.

and then the third married her, and in this same way all seven died, leaving no children.

In the resurrection, therefore, whose wife will the woman be? For all seven had married her.”

So Jesus said to them, “The people of this age marry and are given in marriage.

They devour widows’ property, and as a show make long prayers. They will receive a more severe punishment.”

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

So they said, “Look, Lord, here are two swords.” Then he told them, “It is enough.”

When those who were around him saw what was about to happen, they said, “Lord, should we use our swords?”

Then they said, “Why do we need further testimony? We have heard it ourselves from his own lips!”

But they were insistent, demanding with loud shouts that he be crucified. And their shouts prevailed.

Then he said to them, “What are these matters you are discussing so intently as you walk along?” And they stood still, looking sad.
