and said to him, ‘Go out from your country and from your relatives, and come to the land I will show you.’

Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them.

But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could acquire God’s gift with money!

But Simon replied, “You pray to the Lord for me so that nothing of what you have said may happen to me.”

About three o’clock one afternoon he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God who came in and said to him, “Cornelius.”

So Peter went down to the men and said, “Here I am, the person you’re looking for. Why have you come?”

At that very moment, three men sent to me from Caesarea approached the house where we were staying.

But there were some men from Cyprus and Cyrene among them who came to Antioch and began to speak to the Greeks too, proclaiming the good news of the Lord Jesus.

So Peter was kept in prison, but those in the church were earnestly praying to God for him.

But they said to her, “You’ve lost your mind!” But she kept insisting that it was Peter, and they kept saying, “It is his angel!”

and for many days he appeared to those who had accompanied him from Galilee to Jerusalem. These are now his witnesses to the people.

And we proclaim to you the good news about the promise to our ancestors,

For David, after he had served God’s purpose in his own generation, died, was buried with his ancestors, and experienced decay,

So when the crowds saw what Paul had done, they shouted in the Lycaonian language, “The gods have come down to us in human form!”

The jailer reported these words to Paul, saying, “The magistrates have sent orders to release you. So come out now and go in peace.”

When they came out of the prison, they entered Lydia’s house, and when they saw the brothers, they encouraged them and then departed.

Paul went to the Jews in the synagogue, as he customarily did, and on three Sabbath days he addressed them from the scriptures,

So he was addressing the Jews and the God-fearing Gentiles in the synagogue, and in the marketplace every day those who happened to be there.

Even some of the provincial authorities who were his friends sent a message to him, urging him not to venture into the theater.

If then Demetrius and the craftsmen who are with him have a complaint against someone, the courts are open and there are proconsuls; let them bring charges against one another there.
