For nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, and nothing concealed that will not be made known and brought to light.

Jesus then asked him, “What is your name?” He said, “Legion,” because many demons had entered him.

Herod said, “I had John beheaded, but who is this about whom I hear such things?” So Herod wanted to learn about Jesus.

Then a voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, my Chosen One. Listen to him!”

Then a man from the crowd cried out, “Teacher, I beg you to look at my son – he is my only child!

At the time for the banquet he sent his slave to tell those who had been invited, ‘Come, because everything is now ready.’

Jesus said to his disciples, “Stumbling blocks are sure to come, but woe to the one through whom they come!

He was trying to get a look at Jesus, but being a short man he could not see over the crowd.

Then Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this household, because he too is a son of Abraham!

But if we say, ‘From people,’ all the people will stone us, because they are convinced that John was a prophet.”

But when the tenants saw him, they said to one another, ‘This is the heir; let’s kill him so the inheritance will be ours!’

And after about an hour still another insisted, “Certainly this man was with him, because he too is a Galilean.”

When he learned that he was from Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him over to Herod, who also happened to be in Jerusalem at that time.

but they urged him, “Stay with us, because it is getting toward evening and the day is almost done.” So he went in to stay with them.

This is the one about whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who is greater than I am, because he existed before me.’

He first found his own brother Simon and told him, “We have found the Messiah!” (which is translated Christ).

Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and exclaimed, “Look, a true Israelite in whom there is no deceit!”

But the one who practices the truth comes to the light, so that it may be plainly evident that his deeds have been done in God.

“Sir,” the woman said to him, “you have no bucket and the well is deep; where then do you get this living water?

Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you people say that the place where people must worship is in Jerusalem.”
