If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ just say, ‘The Lord needs it.’”

As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, “Why are you untying that colt?”

but they could not find a way to do it, for all the people hung on his words.

Thus they were unable in the presence of the people to trap him with his own words. And stunned by his answer, they fell silent.

Then they said, “Why do we need further testimony? We have heard it ourselves from his own lips!”

and repentance for the forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

Then Jesus led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands, he blessed them.

He came as a witness to testify about the light, so that everyone might believe through him.

They will never follow a stranger, but will run away from him, because they do not recognize the stranger’s voice.”

Many of them were saying, “He is possessed by a demon and has lost his mind! Why do you listen to him?”

So Thomas (called Didymus) said to his fellow disciples, “Let us go too, so that we may die with him.”
