“When an unclean spirit goes out of a person, it passes through waterless places looking for rest but does not find it.

To the one who had said this, Jesus replied, “Who is my mother and who are my brothers?”

But when the sun came up, they were scorched, and because they did not have sufficient root, they withered.

He answered, “The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man.

When he found a pearl of great value, he went out and sold everything he had and bought it.

Although Herod wanted to kill John, he feared the crowd because they accepted John as a prophet.

Instructed by her mother, she said, “Give me the head of John the Baptist here on a platter.”

Then John’s disciples came and took the body and buried it and went and told Jesus.

But when he saw the strong wind he became afraid. And starting to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!”

Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him, saying to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”

He answered them, “And why do you disobey the commandment of God because of your tradition?

Don’t you understand that whatever goes into the mouth enters the stomach and then passes out into the sewer?

He said, “When evening comes you say, ‘It will be fair weather, because the sky is red,’

When Jesus learned of this, he said, “You who have such little faith! Why are you arguing among yourselves about having no bread?

When the disciples heard this, they were overwhelmed with fear and threw themselves down with their faces to the ground.

Then Jesus rebuked the demon and it came out of him, and the boy was healed from that moment.

Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why couldn’t we cast it out?”

Should you not have shown mercy to your fellow slave, just as I showed it to you?’

They said to him, “Why then did Moses command us to give a certificate of dismissal and to divorce her?”

The disciples said to him, “If this is the case of a husband with a wife, it is better not to marry!”
