“Yes, Lord,” she replied, “but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.”

The disciples asked him, “Why then do the experts in the law say that Elijah must come first?”

Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why couldn’t we cast it out?”

After they arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the temple tax came to Peter and said, “Your teacher pays the double drachma tax, doesn’t he?”

If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. If he refuses to listen to the church, treat him like a Gentile or a tax collector.

“For this reason, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his slaves.

When his fellow slaves saw what had happened, they were very upset and went and told their lord everything that had taken place.

So also my heavenly Father will do to you, if each of you does not forgive your brother from your heart.”

The disciples said to him, “If this is the case of a husband with a wife, it is better not to marry!”

“Which ones?” he asked. Jesus replied, “Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony,

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “I tell you the truth, it will be hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven!

Then Peter said to him, “Look, we have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?”

“For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard.

And about five o’clock that afternoon he went out and found others standing around, and said to them, ‘Why are you standing here all day without work?’

saying, ‘These last fellows worked one hour, and you have made them equal to us who bore the hardship and burning heat of the day.’

As Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve aside privately and said to them on the way,

“Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and the experts in the law. They will condemn him to death,
