Then he came to his hometown and began to teach the people in their synagogue. They were astonished and said, “Where did this man get such wisdom and miraculous powers?

And he did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief.

so much that he promised with an oath to give her whatever she asked.

Then he instructed the crowds to sit down on the grass. He took the five loaves and two fish, and looking up to heaven he gave thanks and broke the loaves. He gave them to the disciples, who in turn gave them to the crowds.

He answered them, “And why do you disobey the commandment of God because of your tradition?

Then he called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand.

Then the disciples came to him and said, “Do you know that when the Pharisees heard this saying they were offended?”

But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these things defile a person.

For out of the heart come evil ideas, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.

But she came and bowed down before him and said, “Lord, help me!”

When Jesus learned of this, he said, “You who have such little faith! Why are you arguing among yourselves about having no bread?

Then he instructed his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Christ.

For the Son of Man will come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done.

When the disciples heard this, they were overwhelmed with fear and threw themselves down with their faces to the ground.

As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, “Do not tell anyone about the vision until the Son of Man is raised from the dead.”

But if he does not listen, take one or two others with you, so that at the testimony of two or three witnesses every matter may be established.

Then the slave threw himself to the ground before him, saying, ‘Be patient with me, and I will repay you everything.’

When his fellow slaves saw what had happened, they were very upset and went and told their lord everything that had taken place.

Now when Jesus finished these sayings, he left Galilee and went to the region of Judea beyond the Jordan River.

He said to them, “Not everyone can accept this statement, except those to whom it has been given.
