The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.”

Then Jesus, in the power of the Spirit, returned to Galilee, and news about him spread throughout the surrounding countryside.

and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written,

Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fixed on him.

And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of the prophet Elisha, yet none of them was cleansed except Naaman the Syrian.”

But Jesus said to them, “I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns too, for that is what I was sent to do.”

He saw two boats by the lake, but the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets.

After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax booth. “Follow me,” he said to him.

Jesus answered them, “Those who are well don’t need a physician, but those who are sick do.

Then Jesus said to them, “I ask you, is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath or to do evil, to save a life or to destroy it?”

Now it was during this time that Jesus went out to the mountain to pray, and he spent all night in prayer to God.

“If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.

And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do the same.

“Everyone who comes to me and listens to my words and puts them into practice – I will show you what he is like:

When they came to Jesus, they urged him earnestly, “He is worthy to have you do this for him,

I tell you, among those born of women no one is greater than John. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he is.”

So Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.” He replied, “Say it, Teacher.”

Simon answered, “I suppose the one who had the bigger debt canceled.” Jesus said to him, “You have judged rightly.”

Therefore I tell you, her sins, which were many, are forgiven, thus she loved much; but the one who is forgiven little loves little.”

“No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a lampstand so that those who come in can see the light.
