Thus he became so far better than the angels as he has inherited a name superior to theirs.

For if the message spoken through angels proved to be so firm that every violation or disobedience received its just penalty,

saying, “I will proclaim your name to my brothers; in the midst of the assembly I will praise you.”

For we have become partners with Christ, if in fact we hold our initial confidence firm until the end.

As it says, “Oh, that today you would listen as he speaks! Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”

For which ones heard and rebelled? Was it not all who came out of Egypt under Moses’ leadership?

So we see that they could not enter because of unbelief.

And since this was not done without a sworn affirmation – for the others have become priests without a sworn affirmation,

a minister in the sanctuary and the true tabernacle that the Lord, not man, set up.

Now the first covenant, in fact, had regulations for worship and its earthly sanctuary.

So with these things prepared like this, the priests enter continually into the outer tent as they perform their duties.

And let us hold unwaveringly to the hope that we confess, for the one who made the promise is trustworthy.

But my righteous one will live by faith, and if he shrinks back, I take no pleasure in him.

Through faith they conquered kingdoms, administered justice, gained what was promised, shut the mouths of lions,

And these all were commended for their faith, yet they did not receive what was promised.
