And whatever you ask in prayer, if you believe, you will receive.”

The boy answered, ‘I will not.’ But later he had a change of heart and went.

Again he sent other slaves, more than the first, and they treated them the same way.

So they seized him, threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him.

They wanted to arrest him, but they were afraid of the crowds, because the crowds regarded him as a prophet.

Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying:

Then the Pharisees went out and planned together to entrap him with his own words.

They sent to him their disciples along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that you are truthful, and teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You do not court anyone’s favor because you show no partiality.

The second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

Nor are you to be called ‘teacher,’ for you have one teacher, the Christ.

I tell you the truth, this generation will be held responsible for all these things!

Jesus answered them, “Watch out that no one misleads you.

Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath.

Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe him.

Then there will be two men in the field; one will be taken and one left.

There will be two women grinding grain with a mill; one will be taken and one left.

“Therefore stay alert, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.

I tell you the truth, the master will put him in charge of all his possessions.

When the bridegroom was delayed a long time, they all became drowsy and fell asleep.

But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Look, the bridegroom is here! Come out to meet him.’
