Now all the tax collectors and sinners were coming to hear him.

Bring the fattened calf and kill it! Let us eat and celebrate,

The Pharisees (who loved money) heard all this and ridiculed him.

But when the man heard this he became very sad, for he was extremely wealthy.

He replied, “What is impossible for mere humans is possible for God.”

And when the people saw it, they all complained, “He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.”

Now he is not God of the dead, but of the living, for all live before him.”

He also saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins.

For it will overtake all who live on the face of the whole earth.

So Herod questioned him at considerable length; Jesus gave him no answer.

For if such things are done when the wood is green, what will happen when it is dry?”

Now there was a man named Joseph who was a member of the council, a good and righteous man.

All things were created by him, and apart from him not one thing was created that has been created.

He came to what was his own, but his own people did not receive him.

so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.”

However, no one spoke openly about him for fear of the Jewish leaders.

Jesus replied, “I performed one miracle and you are all amazed.

“Why wasn’t this oil sold for three hundred silver coins and the money given to the poor?”

for on account of him many of the Jewish people from Jerusalem were going away and believing in Jesus.

In a little while you will see me no longer; again after a little while, you will see me.”
