But the wise ones took flasks of olive oil with their lamps.

Later, the other virgins came too, saying, ‘Lord, lord! Let us in!’

But they said, “Not during the feast, so that there won’t be a riot among the people.”

Now while Jesus was in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper,

When the disciples saw this, they became indignant and said, “Why this waste?

When it was evening, he took his place at the table with the twelve.

After singing a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

But after I am raised, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”

How then would the scriptures that say it must happen this way be fulfilled?”

But he denied it in front of them all: “I don’t know what you’re talking about!”

They tied him up, led him away, and handed him over to Pilate the governor.

So Judas threw the silver coins into the temple and left. Then he went out and hanged himself.

They came to a place called Golgotha (which means “Place of the Skull”)

Now from noon until three, darkness came over all the land.

Going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in a boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. Then he called them.
