But Peter said to him, “Explain this parable to us.”

Jesus said, “Even after all this, are you still so foolish?

Then he instructed his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Christ.

He answered, “Elijah does indeed come first and will restore all things.

Then the disciples understood that he was speaking to them about John the Baptist.

The boy answered, ‘I will not.’ But later he had a change of heart and went.

Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying:

Jesus answered them, “Watch out that no one misleads you.

Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe him.

But he replied, ‘I tell you the truth, I do not know you!’

Immediately he went up to Jesus and said, “Greetings, Rabbi,” and kissed him.

And he said to them, “Why are you cowardly? Do you still not have faith?”

They also had a few small fish. After giving thanks for these, he told them to serve these as well.

He answered them, “What did Moses command you?”

He said to them, “What do you want me to do for you?”

He went away again and prayed the same thing.

The angel came to her and said, “Greetings, favored one, the Lord is with you!”

And Mary said, “My soul exalts the Lord,

But his mother replied, “No! He must be named John.”

He told them, “Collect no more than you are required to.”
