Jesus answered him, “It is said, ‘You are not to put the Lord your God to the test.’”

But some of the Pharisees said, “Why are you doing what is against the law on the Sabbath?”

A disciple is not greater than his teacher, but everyone when fully trained will be like his teacher.

Aren’t five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God.

You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”

“Exert every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.

But he will reply, ‘I don’t know where you come from! Go away from me, all you evildoers!’

Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, because it is impossible that a prophet should be killed outside Jerusalem.’

Then you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you, for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

But the older son became angry and refused to go in. His father came out and appealed to him,

If then you haven’t been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will entrust you with the true riches?

And if you haven’t been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you your own?
