Then he came to Simon Peter. Peter said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?”

Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, wash not only my feet, but also my hands and my head!”

So Simon Peter gestured to this disciple to ask Jesus who it was he was referring to.

Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time for prayer, at three o’clock in the afternoon.

When he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple courts, he asked them for money.

But Peter and the apostles replied, “We must obey God rather than people.

Now as Peter was traveling around from place to place, he also came down to the saints who lived in Lydda.

Now send men to Joppa and summon a man named Simon, who is called Peter.

While Peter was still thinking seriously about the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Look! Three men are looking for you.

But Peter helped him up, saying, “Stand up. I too am a mere mortal.”

Then Peter started speaking: “I now truly understand that God does not show favoritism in dealing with people,

At daybreak there was great consternation among the soldiers over what had become of Peter.

On the contrary, when they saw that I was entrusted with the gospel to the uncircumcised just as Peter was to the circumcised

(for he who empowered Peter for his apostleship to the circumcised also empowered me for my apostleship to the Gentiles)

Peter said to him, “Lord, if it is you, order me to come to you on the water.”

So he said, “Come.” Peter got out of the boat, walked on the water, and came toward Jesus.

So Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him: “God forbid, Lord! This must not happen to you!”

Six days later Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John the brother of James, and led them privately up a high mountain.

After they arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the temple tax came to Peter and said, “Your teacher pays the double drachma tax, doesn’t he?”

Then Peter came to him and said, “Lord, how many times must I forgive my brother who sins against me? As many as seven times?”
