Then Jesus turned to his disciples and said privately, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see!

But the expert, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

because a friend of mine has stopped here while on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him.’

Someone asked him, “Lord, will only a few be saved?” So he said to them,

Then the rich man said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’

So Jesus stopped and ordered the beggar to be brought to him. When the man came near, Jesus asked him,

As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, “Why are you untying that colt?”

But some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.”

He answered them, “I will also ask you a question, and you tell me:

So he said to them, “Then give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”

And he said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.

When he got up from prayer, he came to the disciples and found them sleeping, exhausted from grief.

Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, “I find no basis for an accusation against this man.”

Neither did Herod, for he sent him back to us. Look, he has done nothing deserving death.

Then Jesus led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands, he blessed them.

And the child kept growing and becoming strong in spirit, and he was in the wilderness until the day he was revealed to Israel.

So the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen; everything was just as they had been told.

But he replied, “Why were you looking for me? Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?”

Even now the ax is laid at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.”

But Jesus said to them, “I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns too, for that is what I was sent to do.”
