Simon answered, “Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing! But at your word I will lower the nets.”

“Woe to you when all people speak well of you, for their ancestors did the same things to the false prophets.

And if you lend to those from whom you hope to be repaid, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, so that they may be repaid in full.

The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying,

So if Satan too is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? I ask you this because you claim that I cast out demons by Beelzebul.

Now if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.

But when a stronger man attacks and conquers him, he takes away the first man’s armor on which the man relied and divides up his plunder.

Then he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.

The man replied, ‘A hundred measures of olive oil.’ The manager said to him, ‘Take your bill, sit down quickly, and write fifty.’

Jesus said to his disciples, “Stumbling blocks are sure to come, but woe to the one through whom they come!

So you too, when you have done everything you were commanded to do, should say, ‘We are slaves undeserving of special praise; we have only done what was our duty.’”

When Jesus noticed this, he said, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!

But the twelve understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they did not grasp what Jesus meant.

Then they brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks on the colt, and had Jesus get on it.
