“You must no longer give straw to the people for making bricks as before. Let them go and collect straw for themselves.

So the slave masters of the people and their foremen went to the Israelites and said, “Thus says Pharaoh: ‘I am not giving you straw.

No straw is given to your servants, but we are told, ‘Make bricks!’ Your servants are even being beaten, but the fault is with your people.”

and they said to them, “May the Lord look on you and judge, because you have made us stink in the opinion of Pharaoh and his servants, so that you have given them an excuse to kill us!”

I also established my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, where they were living as resident foreigners.

They will take some of the blood and put it on the two side posts and top of the doorframe of the houses where they will eat it.

When you enter the land that the Lord will give to you, just as he said, you must observe this ceremony.

When the Lord brings you into the land of the Canaanites, as he swore to you and to your fathers, and gives it to you,

Moses said to Aaron, “Take a jar and put in it an omer full of manna, and place it before the Lord to be kept for generations to come.”

“Honor your father and your mother, that you may live a long time in the land the Lord your God is giving to you.

If his master gave him a wife, and she bore sons or daughters, the wife and the children will belong to her master, and he will go out by himself.

and then if he gets up and walks about outside on his staff, then the one who struck him is innocent, except he must pay for the injured person’s loss of time and see to it that he is fully healed.

If the ox gores a male servant or a female servant, the owner must pay thirty shekels of silver, and the ox must be stoned.

“If a man gives his neighbor money or articles for safekeeping, and it is stolen from the man’s house, if the thief is caught, he must repay double.

You must also do this for your oxen and for your sheep; seven days they may remain with their mothers, but give them to me on the eighth day.

“I will send my terror before you, and I will destroy all the people whom you encounter; I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.

You are to make four rings of gold for it and attach the rings at the four corners where its four legs are.

You are to hang it with gold hooks on four posts of acacia wood overlaid with gold, set in four silver bases.

You are to put the table outside the curtain and the lampstand on the south side of the tabernacle, opposite the table, and you are to place the table on the north side.

and two braided chains of pure gold, like a cord, and attach the chains to the settings.
