So I made an ark of acacia wood and carved out two stone tablets just like the first ones. Then I went up the mountain with the two tablets in my hands.

“Take this scroll of the law and place it beside the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God. It will remain there as a witness against you,

Instruct the priests carrying the ark of the covenant, ‘When you reach the bank of the Jordan River, wade into the water.’”

David was afraid of God that day and said, “How will I ever be able to bring the ark of God up here?”

David assembled all Israel at Jerusalem to bring the ark of the Lord up to the place he had prepared for it.
