Whenever they entered the tent of meeting, and whenever they approached the altar, they would wash, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

God spoke to Moses and said to him, “I am the Lord.

When the Lord spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt,

The Lord said to Moses and Aaron,

So Moses went out from Pharaoh and prayed to the Lord,

Then Moses sent his father-in-law on his way, and so Jethro went to his own land.

Moses went up the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain.

You are to put into the ark the testimony that I will give to you.

I have come down to deliver them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up from that land to a land that is both good and spacious, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the region of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites.

No one is to come up with you; do not let anyone be seen anywhere on the mountain; not even the flocks or the herds may graze in front of that mountain.”

He said to his people, “Look at the Israelite people, more numerous and stronger than we are!

So when they came home to their father Reuel, he asked, “Why have you come home so early today?”

So now go, and I will send you to Pharaoh to bring my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt.”

You must say to Pharaoh, ‘Thus says the Lord, “Israel is my son, my firstborn,

The Israelite foremen went and cried out to Pharaoh, “Why are you treating your servants this way?

“Go, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt that he must release the Israelites from his land.”

So the Lord said to Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet.

Now Moses was eighty years old and Aaron was eighty-three years old when they spoke to Pharaoh.

The Lord said to Moses, “Pharaoh’s heart is hard; he refuses to release the people.

And Pharaoh turned and went into his house. He did not pay any attention to this.
