Soon afterward Jesus went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd went with him.

One of the experts in religious law answered him, “Teacher, when you say these things you insult us too.”

I am no longer worthy to be called your son; treat me like one of your hired workers.”’

Now when he approached Bethphage and Bethany, at the place called the Mount of Olives, he sent two of the disciples,

“Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription are on it?” They said, “Caesar’s.”

He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of his father David.

And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High. For you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways,

Now Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, and the crowd was pressing around him to hear the word of God.

and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and disabilities: Mary (called Magdalene), from whom seven demons had gone out,

When the apostles returned, they told Jesus everything they had done. Then he took them with him and they withdrew privately to a town called Bethsaida.

Then his son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

And when Jesus came to that place, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down quickly, because I must stay at your house today.”

So every day Jesus was teaching in the temple courts, but at night he went and stayed on the Mount of Olives.

So Jesus said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those in authority over them are called ‘benefactors.’

So when they came to the place that is called “The Skull,” they crucified him there, along with the criminals, one on his right and one on his left.

The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore the child to be born will be holy; he will be called the Son of God.
