They were overwhelmed by fear and said to one another, “Who then is this? Even the wind and sea obey him!”

“But as for that day or hour no one knows it – neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son – except the Father.

“Leave us alone, Jesus the Nazarene! Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are – the Holy One of God!”

Now as Jesus was going out of the temple courts, one of his disciples said to him, “Teacher, look at these tremendous stones and buildings!”

Then he came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “Simon, are you sleeping? Couldn’t you stay awake for one hour?

Jesus said to them, “I will ask you one question. Answer me and I will tell you by what authority I do these things:

(Now the betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “The one I kiss is the man. Arrest him and lead him away under guard.”)

Then Jesus said to him, “‘If you are able?’ All things are possible for the one who believes.”

But Jesus said, “Do not stop him, because no one who does a miracle in my name will be able soon afterward to say anything bad about me.

But those tenants said to one another, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him and the inheritance will be ours!’

So they brought one, and he said to them, “Whose image is this, and whose inscription?” They replied, “Caesar’s.”

But he denied it again. A short time later the bystanders again said to Peter, “You must be one of them, because you are also a Galilean.”

He proclaimed, “One more powerful than I am is coming after me; I am not worthy to bend down and untie the strap of his sandals.

So he sent another slave to them again. This one they struck on the head and treated outrageously.

But he was silent and did not answer. Again the high priest questioned him, “Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?”

Now one of the experts in the law came and heard them debating. When he saw that Jesus answered them well, he asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?”

And a voice came from heaven: “You are my one dear Son; in you I take great delight.”

They discussed with one another, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Then why did you not believe him?’

You will be hated by everyone because of my name. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

But no one is able to enter a strong man’s house and steal his property unless he first ties up the strong man. Then he can thoroughly plunder his house.
