Now Jericho was shut tightly because of the Israelites. No one was allowed to leave or enter.

Then one of the synagogue rulers, named Jairus, came up, and when he saw Jesus, he fell at his feet.

Others said, “He is Elijah.” Others said, “He is a prophet, like one of the prophets from the past.”
