But even Moses revealed that the dead are raised in the passage about the bush, where he calls the Lord the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.

For the Son of Man is to go just as it has been determined, but woe to that man by whom he is betrayed!”

So they all said, “Are you the Son of God, then?” He answered them, “You say that I am.”

But they persisted in saying, “He incites the people by teaching throughout all Judea. It started in Galilee and ended up here!”

When he learned that he was from Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him over to Herod, who also happened to be in Jerusalem at that time.

For this is certain: The days are coming when they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, the wombs that never bore children, and the breasts that never nursed!’

But the other rebuked him, saying, “Don’t you fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation?

that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.”

but they urged him, “Stay with us, because it is getting toward evening and the day is almost done.” So he went in to stay with them.

Then John testified, “I saw the Spirit descending like a dove from heaven, and it remained on him.

He did not need anyone to testify about man, for he knew what was in man.

I tell you the solemn truth, we speak about what we know and testify about what we have seen, but you people do not accept our testimony.

But the one who practices the truth comes to the light, so that it may be plainly evident that his deeds have been done in God.

John was also baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because water was plentiful there, and people were coming to him and being baptized.

The woman replied, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “Right you are when you said, ‘I have no husband,’

Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you people say that the place where people must worship is in Jerusalem.”

Jesus said to her, “Believe me, woman, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.

You people worship what you do not know. We worship what we know, because salvation is from the Jews.

The woman said to him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (the one called Christ); “whenever he comes, he will tell us everything.”
