Someone asked him, “Lord, will only a few be saved?” So he said to them,

At that time, some Pharisees came up and said to Jesus, “Get away from here, because Herod wants to kill you.”

But Jesus said to him, “A man once gave a great banquet and invited many guests.

But the Pharisees and the experts in the law were complaining, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”

“There was a rich man who dressed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day.

And in hell, as he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far off with Lazarus at his side.

Now on the way to Jerusalem, Jesus was passing along between Samaria and Galilee.

He fell with his face to the ground at Jesus’ feet and thanked him. (Now he was a Samaritan.)

Was no one found to turn back and give praise to God except this foreigner?”

There was also a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’

For he will be handed over to the Gentiles; he will be mocked, mistreated, and spat on.

Therefore he said, “A nobleman went to a distant country to receive for himself a kingdom and then return.

As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, “Why are you untying that colt?”

When they sprout leaves, you see for yourselves and know that summer is now near.

Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks he said, “Take this and divide it among yourselves.

(This was a man who had been thrown into prison for an insurrection started in the city, and for murder.)

Then he said to them, “What are these matters you are discussing so intently as you walk along?” And they stood still, looking sad.

Then some soldiers also asked him, “And as for us – what should we do?” He told them, “Take money from no one by violence or by false accusation, and be content with your pay.”

and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, “You are my one dear Son; in you I take great delight.”

And he said to him, “To you I will grant this whole realm – and the glory that goes along with it, for it has been relinquished to me, and I can give it to anyone I wish.
