Then Cain said to the Lord, “My punishment is too great to endure!

But Abram said, “O sovereign Lord, by what can I know that I am to possess it?”

Then the Lord said, “Should I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?

The Lord’s angel called to Abraham a second time from heaven

What he did was evil in the Lord’s sight, so the Lord killed him too.

The Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?” He said, “A staff.”

Now on the way, at a place where they stopped for the night, the Lord met Moses and sought to kill him.

God spoke to Moses and said to him, “I am the Lord.

When the Lord spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt,

The Lord said to Moses and Aaron,

Seven full days passed after the Lord struck the Nile.

So Moses went out from Pharaoh and prayed to the Lord,

But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he was not willing to release them.

For seven days you must eat bread made without yeast, and on the seventh day there is to be a festival to the Lord.

Moses built an altar, and he called it “The Lord is my Banner,”

“Whoever sacrifices to a god other than the Lord alone must be utterly destroyed.

You are to kill the bull before the Lord at the entrance to the tent of meeting

Then the Lord relented over the evil that he had said he would do to his people.

The Lord said, “Here is a place by me; you will station yourself on a rock.

Then the priest must offer them up in smoke on the altar as a gift to the Lord. It is a guilt offering.
