The governor asked them, “Which of the two do you want me to release for you?” And they said, “Barabbas!”

Then everyone will see the Son of Man arriving in the clouds with great power and glory.

Then Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went to the chief priests to betray Jesus into their hands.

He said to them, “It is one of the twelve, one who dips his hand with me into the bowl.

When the slave girl saw him, she began again to say to the bystanders, “This man is one of them.”

So Pilate asked them, “Do you want me to release the king of the Jews for you?”

Now many have undertaken to compile an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us,

“Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, because he has come to help and has redeemed his people.

And the child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom, and the favor of God was upon him.

Now Jesus’ mother and his brothers came to him, but they could not get near him because of the crowd.

Heal the sick in that town and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come upon you!’

One of the experts in religious law answered him, “Teacher, when you say these things you insult us too.”

He then told them a parable: “The land of a certain rich man produced an abundant crop,

I am no longer worthy to be called your son; treat me like one of your hired workers.”’

Then one of them, when he saw he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice.

Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot, people were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building;

When Jesus noticed this, he said, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!

For David himself says in the book of Psalms, ‘The Lord said to my lord, “Sit at my right hand,

Then they will see the Son of Man arriving in a cloud with power and great glory.

So also you, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near.
