Jesus looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the offering box.

He also saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins.

Then he told them a parable: “Look at the fig tree and all the other trees.

But Peter denied it: “Woman, I don’t know him!”

Gazing at Jesus as he walked by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!”

(Now Jesus said this to test him, for he knew what he was going to do.)

Then the Jewish leaders were astonished and said, “How does this man know so much when he has never had formal instruction?”

but I know him, because I have come from him and he sent me.”

They said to him, “Where is that man?” He replied, “I don’t know.”

Thus the people who had come to mourn said, “Look how much he loved him!”

Isaiah said these things because he saw Christ’s glory, and spoke about him.

If you understand these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

(For they did not yet understand the scripture that Jesus must rise from the dead.)

So when Peter saw him, he asked Jesus, “Lord, what about him?”

All the people saw him walking and praising God,

And now, brothers, I know you acted in ignorance, as your rulers did too.

until another king who did not know about Joseph ruled over Egypt.

Therefore he also says in another psalm, ‘You will not permit your Holy One to experience decay.’

but the one whom God raised up did not experience decay.

Both the apostles and the elders met together to deliberate about this matter.
