Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” And he said, “My name is Legion, for we are many.”

And the demonic spirits begged him, “Send us into the pigs. Let us enter them.”

But Jesus, paying no attention to what was said, told the synagogue ruler, “Do not be afraid; just believe.”

When he entered he said to them, “Why are you distressed and weeping? The child is not dead but asleep.”

He said to them, “Wherever you enter a house, stay there until you leave the area.

For John had repeatedly told Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”

He also said to them, “You neatly reject the commandment of God in order to set up your tradition.

Then he called the crowd again and said to them, “Listen to me, everyone, and understand.

Then he looked up to heaven and said with a sigh, “Ephphatha” (that is, “Be opened”).

Jesus ordered them not to tell anything. But as much as he ordered them not to do this, they proclaimed it all the more.

People were completely astounded and said, “He has done everything well. He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.”

And Jesus ordered them, “Watch out! Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod!”

“When I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many baskets full of pieces did you pick up?” They replied, “Seven.”

But I tell you that Elijah has certainly come, and they did to him whatever they wanted, just as it is written about him.”

Immediately the father of the boy cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!”

It shrieked, threw him into terrible convulsions, and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, “He is dead!”

So he told them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her.

Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.

Peter began to speak to him, “Look, we have left everything to follow you!”

Some people standing there said to them, “What are you doing, untying that colt?”
