“But I say to you who are listening: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,

For John the Baptist has come eating no bread and drinking no wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon!’

But those who were at the table with him began to say among themselves, “Who is this, who even forgives sins?”

They appeared in glorious splendor and spoke about his departure that he was about to carry out at Jerusalem.

Heal the sick in that town and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come upon you!’

I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town!

so he thought to himself, ‘What should I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’

Then Peter said, “Lord, are you telling this parable for us or for everyone?”

Do you think I have come to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division!

Thus Jesus asked, “What is the kingdom of God like? To what should I compare it?

“Exert every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.

Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’

But he will reply, ‘I don’t know where you come from! Go away from me, all you evildoers!’

For I tell you, not one of those individuals who were invited will taste my banquet!’”

But the Pharisees and the experts in the law were complaining, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”

In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels over one sinner who repents.”

He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected people.

Now a certain ruler asked him, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.

So the first one came before him and said, ‘Sir, your mina has made ten minas more.’
