He answered them, “What did Moses command you?”

They were even more astonished and said to one another, “Then who can be saved?”

He said to them, “What do you want me to do for you?”

So they made signs to the baby’s father, inquiring what he wanted to name his son.

So the crowds were asking him, “What then should we do?”

Tax collectors also came to be baptized, and they said to him, “Teacher, what should we do?”

“Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and don’t do what I tell you?

What did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.

Then his disciples asked him what this parable meant.

Now an argument started among the disciples as to which of them might be the greatest.

He said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you understand it?”

And which of you by worrying can add an hour to his life?

So if you cannot do such a very little thing as this, why do you worry about the rest?

“I have come to bring fire on the earth – and how I wish it were already kindled!

“And why don’t you judge for yourselves what is right?

Again he said, “To what should I compare the kingdom of God?

“Salt is good, but if salt loses its flavor, how can its flavor be restored?

So he called one of the slaves and asked what was happening.

And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unrighteous judge says!

Those who heard this said, “Then who can be saved?”
