Then he will answer them, ‘I tell you the truth, just as you did not do it for one of the least of these, you did not do it for me.’

(Now the betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “The one I kiss is the man. Arrest him!”)

Then the high priest tore his clothes and declared, “He has blasphemed! Why do we still need witnesses? Now you have heard the blasphemy!

But Jesus met them, saying, “Greetings!” They came to him, held on to his feet and worshiped him.

Then Jesus came up and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

He proclaimed, “One more powerful than I am is coming after me; I am not worthy to bend down and untie the strap of his sandals.

He said, “The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the gospel!”

“Leave us alone, Jesus the Nazarene! Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are – the Holy One of God!”

Now a leper came to him and fell to his knees, asking for help. “If you are willing, you can make me clean,” he said.

He asked him urgently, “My little daughter is near death. Come and lay your hands on her so that she may be healed and live.”

He had one left, his one dear son. Finally he sent him to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’

Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, “Have you no answer? What is this that they are testifying against you?”

But he denied it: “I don’t even understand what you’re talking about!” Then he went out to the gateway, and a rooster crowed.

Then someone ran, filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on a stick, and gave it to him to drink, saying, “Leave him alone! Let’s see if Elijah will come to take him down!”

But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Go away from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man!”

So he stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing. Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him.

The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying,

While he was still speaking, someone from the synagogue ruler’s house came and said, “Your daughter is dead; do not trouble the teacher any longer.”

Then a man from the crowd cried out, “Teacher, I beg you to look at my son – he is my only child!
