and congregation of the firstborn, who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous, who have been made perfect,

For the one who obeys the whole law but fails in one point has become guilty of all of it.

Since all these things are to melt away in this manner, what sort of people must we be, conducting our lives in holiness and godliness,

Dear friend, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, just as it is well with your soul.

“Then they will hand you over to be persecuted and will kill you. You will be hated by all the nations because of my name.

It is like a mustard seed that when sown in the ground, even though it is the smallest of all the seeds in the ground –

Now one of the experts in the law came and heard them debating. When he saw that Jesus answered them well, he asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?”

While the people were filled with anticipation and they all wondered whether perhaps John could be the Christ,

But when John rebuked Herod the tetrarch because of Herodias, his brother’s wife, and because of all the evil deeds that he had done,

Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fixed on him.

Then they were all astonished at the mighty power of God.But while the entire crowd was amazed at everything Jesus was doing, he said to his disciples,

My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can snatch them from my Father’s hand.

This one heaven must receive until the time all things are restored, which God declared from times long ago through his holy prophets.

We are witnesses of all the things he did both in Judea and in Jerusalem. They killed him by hanging him on a tree,

and by this one everyone who believes is justified from everything from which the law of Moses could not justify you.

Suddenly a great earthquake occurred, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. Immediately all the doors flew open, and the bonds of all the prisoners came loose.

But when they recognized that he was a Jew, they all shouted in unison, “Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!” for about two hours.

First of all, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is proclaimed throughout the whole world.
