He also said to them, “You neatly reject the commandment of God in order to set up your tradition.

Then he sat down opposite the offering box, and watched the crowd putting coins into it. Many rich people were throwing in large amounts.

Those who passed by defamed him, shaking their heads and saying, “Aha! You who can destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days,

Simon’s mother-in-law was lying down, sick with a fever, so they spoke to Jesus at once about her.

Going on a little farther, he saw James, the son of Zebedee, and John his brother in their boat mending nets.

He instructed them to take nothing for the journey except a staff – no bread, no bag, no money in their belts –

But Jesus said, “Do not stop him, because no one who does a miracle in my name will be able soon afterward to say anything bad about me.
