that we, being rescued from the hand of our enemies, may serve him without fear,

The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.”

Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘Man does not live by bread alone.’”

Jesus answered him, “It is said, ‘You are not to put the Lord your God to the test.’”

For Peter and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish that they had taken,

So he stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing. Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him.

When morning came, he called his disciples and chose twelve of them, whom he also named apostles:

and those who suffered from unclean spirits were cured.

The whole crowd was trying to touch him, because power was coming out from him and healing them all.

When they came to Jesus, they urged him earnestly, “He is worthy to have you do this for him,

Blessed is anyone who takes no offense at me.”

When they could not pay, he canceled the debts of both. Now which of them will love him more?”

And they began to beg him not to order them to depart into the abyss.

But when Jesus discerned their innermost thoughts, he took a child, had him stand by his side,

As he spoke, a Pharisee invited Jesus to have a meal with him, so he went in and took his place at the table.

I tell you, you will never get out of there until you have paid the very last cent!”

When Jesus saw her, he called her to him and said, “Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.”

Someone asked him, “Lord, will only a few be saved?” So he said to them,

But they remained silent. So Jesus took hold of the man, healed him, and sent him away.

But Jesus said to him, “A man once gave a great banquet and invited many guests.
