There is nothing outside of a person that can defile him by going into him. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles him.”

Now some of the experts in the law were sitting there, turning these things over in their minds:

Some people came bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four of them.

For whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.”

He begged Jesus repeatedly not to send them out of the region.

He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James, and John, the brother of James.

They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of dismissal and to divorce her.”

Then one of the synagogue rulers, named Jairus, came up, and when he saw Jesus, he fell at his feet.

They came to the house of the synagogue ruler where he saw noisy confusion and people weeping and wailing loudly.

Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will turn you into fishers of people.”

Immediately the father of the boy cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!”

They brought Jesus to a place called Golgotha (which is translated, “Place of the Skull”).

Others said, “He is Elijah.” Others said, “He is a prophet, like one of the prophets from the past.”

For the Son of Man will go as it is written about him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would be better for him if he had never been born.”

They worship me in vain, teaching as doctrine the commandments of men.’

(For he knew that the chief priests had handed him over because of envy.)

At once the bleeding stopped, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease.

He also said to them, “You neatly reject the commandment of God in order to set up your tradition.

Then he began to teach them and said, “Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have turned it into a den of robbers!”
