When the local people saw the creature hanging from Paul’s hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer! Although he has escaped from the sea, Justice herself has not allowed him to live!”

When they heard this, they raised their voices to God with one mind and said, “Master of all, you who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and everything that is in them,

This one heaven must receive until the time all things are restored, which God declared from times long ago through his holy prophets.

This was the one who exploited our people and was cruel to our ancestors, forcing them to abandon their infants so they would die.

But Saul was trying to destroy the church; entering one house after another, he dragged off both men and women and put them in prison.

and by this one everyone who believes is justified from everything from which the law of Moses could not justify you.

So Peter went down to the men and said, “Here I am, the person you’re looking for. Why have you come?”
