He gave them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field.

When they gathered together in Galilee, Jesus told them, “The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men.

Again, I tell you the truth, if two of you on earth agree about whatever you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you.

just as the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him and get his inheritance!’

He instructed them to take nothing for the journey except a staff – no bread, no bag, no money in their belts –

for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them: “Have courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.”

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

In his teaching Jesus also said, “Watch out for the experts in the law. They like walking around in long robes and elaborate greetings in the marketplaces,

For you will always have the poor with you, and you can do good for them whenever you want. But you will not always have me!

So Mary said, “Yes, I am a servant of the Lord; let this happen to me according to your word.” Then the angel departed from her.

So John said to the crowds that came out to be baptized by him, “You offspring of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?

“I tell you, whoever acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man will also acknowledge before God’s angels.

Jesus also said to the crowds, “When you see a cloud rising in the west, you say at once, ‘A rainstorm is coming,’ and it does.

I know what to do so that when I am put out of management, people will welcome me into their homes.’

(for I have five brothers) to warn them so that they don’t come into this place of torment.’

And he summoned ten of his slaves, gave them ten minas, and said to them, ‘Do business with these until I come back.’

But when the tenants saw him, they said to one another, ‘This is the heir; let’s kill him so the inheritance will be ours!’

The women were terribly frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?

You yourselves can testify that I said, ‘I am not the Christ,’ but rather, ‘I have been sent before him.’
