Then he took it down, wrapped it in a linen cloth, and placed it in a tomb cut out of the rock, where no one had yet been buried.

The women who had accompanied Jesus from Galilee followed, and they saw the tomb and how his body was laid in it.

While they were perplexed about this, suddenly two men stood beside them in dazzling attire.

The women were terribly frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?

Now that very day two of them were on their way to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem.

and when they did not find his body, they came back and said they had seen a vision of angels, who said he was alive.

So he said to them, “You foolish people – how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!

but they urged him, “Stay with us, because it is getting toward evening and the day is almost done.” So he went in to stay with them.

So they got up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem. They found the eleven and those with them gathered together

So they asked John, “Why then are you baptizing if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”

Nathanael replied, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip replied, “Come and see.”

Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and exclaimed, “Look, a true Israelite in whom there is no deceit!”

After this, Jesus and his disciples came into Judean territory, and there he spent time with them and was baptizing.

The woman replied, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “Right you are when you said, ‘I have no husband,’

Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of the one who sent me and to complete his work.

And the Father who sent me has himself testified about me. You people have never heard his voice nor seen his form at any time,

Then Jesus, because he knew they were going to come and seize him by force to make him king, withdrew again up the mountainside alone.

No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.

Then many of his disciples, when they heard these things, said, “This is a difficult saying! Who can understand it?”

When Jesus was aware that his disciples were complaining about this, he said to them, “Does this cause you to be offended?
