Then Jesus came up and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,” – he said to the paralytic –

and his clothes became radiantly white, more so than any launderer in the world could bleach them.

So they brought the boy to him. When the spirit saw him, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell on the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth.

Then he will send angels and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.

Going a little farther, he threw himself to the ground and prayed that if it were possible the hour would pass from him.

But as for the seed that landed on good soil, these are the ones who, after hearing the word, cling to it with an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with steadfast endurance.

You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky, but how can you not know how to interpret the present time?

Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing their babies in those days! For there will be great distress on the earth and wrath against this people.

“And there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and on the earth nations will be in distress, anxious over the roaring of the sea and the surging waves.

And in his anguish he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.]

The women were terribly frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?

After this, Jesus and his disciples came into Judean territory, and there he spent time with them and was baptizing.

Then they wanted to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat came to the land where they had been heading.

(Now they were asking this in an attempt to trap him, so that they could bring charges against him.) Jesus bent down and wrote on the ground with his finger.

The kings of the earth stood together, and the rulers assembled together, against the Lord and against his Christ.’

But God spoke as follows: ‘Your descendants will be foreigners in a foreign country, whose citizens will enslave them and mistreat them for four hundred years.

When the man said this, Moses fled and became a foreigner in the land of Midian, where he became the father of two sons.

But the Lord said to him, ‘Take the sandals off your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.

In humiliation justice was taken from him. Who can describe his posterity? For his life was taken away from the earth.”
