Then the disciples came to him and said, “Why do you speak to them in parables?”

Then he called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand.

Jesus said, “Even after all this, are you still so foolish?

When the disciples went to the other side, they forgot to take bread.

The second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

Fill up then the measure of your ancestors!

Jesus answered them, “Watch out that no one misleads you.

Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath.

“Therefore stay alert, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.

But he replied, ‘I tell you the truth, I do not know you!’

Get up, let us go. Look! My betrayer is approaching!”

Immediately he went up to Jesus and said, “Greetings, Rabbi,” and kissed him.

So then, if you bring your gift to the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you,

But I say to you, do not resist the evildoer. But whoever strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other to him as well.

They cried out, “Son of God, leave us alone! Have you come here to torment us before the time?”
