Peter said to him, “Lord, why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you!”

The two were running together, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter and reached the tomb first.

Then Simon Peter, who had been following him, arrived and went right into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen cloth lying there,

In those days Peter stood up among the believers (a gathering of about one hundred and twenty people) and said,

Now when they heard this, they were acutely distressed and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “What should we do, brothers?”

While the man was hanging on to Peter and John, all the people, completely astounded, ran together to them in the covered walkway called Solomon’s Portico.

But Peter and John replied, “Whether it is right before God to obey you rather than God, you decide,

Peter said to her, “Tell me, were the two of you paid this amount for the land?” Sapphira said, “Yes, that much.”

Thus they even carried the sick out into the streets, and put them on cots and pallets, so that when Peter came by at least his shadow would fall on some of them.

Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them.

But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could acquire God’s gift with money!

Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. Get up and make your own bed!” And immediately he got up.

About noon the next day, while they were on their way and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray.

So Peter went down to the men and said, “Here I am, the person you’re looking for. Why have you come?”

So when Peter came in, Cornelius met him, fell at his feet, and worshiped him.

Therefore send to Joppa and summon Simon, who is called Peter. This man is staying as a guest in the house of Simon the tanner, by the sea.’

While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all those who heard the message.

The circumcised believers who had accompanied Peter were greatly astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles,

When he saw that this pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter too. (This took place during the feast of Unleavened Bread.)

So Peter was kept in prison, but those in the church were earnestly praying to God for him.
