For they all gave out of their wealth. But she, out of her poverty, put in what she had to live on, everything she had.”

(Now the betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “The one I kiss is the man. Arrest him and lead him away under guard.”)

Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown great mercy to her, and they rejoiced with her.

because he had an only daughter, about twelve years old, and she was dying. As Jesus was on his way, the crowds pressed around him.

For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.

A spirit seizes him, and he suddenly screams; it throws him into convulsions and causes him to foam at the mouth. It hardly ever leaves him alone, torturing him severely.

But Jesus turned and rebuked them,

But when a stronger man attacks and conquers him, he takes away the first man’s armor on which the man relied and divides up his plunder.

I will therefore have him flogged and release him.”

Then the women remembered his words,

and he was baptizing them in the Jordan River as they confessed their sins.
