Blessed is that slave whom his master finds at work when he returns.

For I tell you, not one of those individuals who were invited will taste my banquet!’”

But the Pharisees and the experts in the law were complaining, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”

Then after he had spent everything, a severe famine took place in that country, and he began to be in need.

Whoever tries to keep his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will preserve it.

So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, because Jesus was going to pass that way.

He answered, “I tell you, if they keep silent, the very stones will cry out!”

Then Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by whose authority I do these things.”

So he sent another slave. They beat this one too, treated him outrageously, and sent him away empty-handed.

So Jesus said to them, “The people of this age marry and are given in marriage.

They devour widows’ property, and as a show make long prayers. They will receive a more severe punishment.”

He said, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put in more than all of them.

But when these things begin to happen, stand up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

So also you, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near.

I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

And he said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.

But Jesus said, “Enough of this!” And he touched the man’s ear and healed him.

Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, “I find no basis for an accusation against this man.”

And we rightly so, for we are getting what we deserve for what we did, but this man has done nothing wrong.”

and when they returned from the tomb they told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.
