Now an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus, saying, “Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

So Jesus asked the experts in religious law and the Pharisees, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not?”

Even if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times returns to you saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.”

Then another slave came and said, ‘Sir, here is your mina that I put away for safekeeping in a piece of cloth.

saying, “If you had only known on this day, even you, the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.

saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house will be a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of robbers!”

And in the same way he took the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.

“Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me. Yet not my will but yours be done.”

And after about an hour still another insisted, “Certainly this man was with him, because he too is a Galilean.”

So Pilate asked Jesus, “Are you the king of the Jews?” He replied, “You say so.”

Now when the centurion saw what had happened, he praised God and said, “Certainly this man was innocent!”

that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.”

When the centurion heard this, he went to the commanding officer and reported it, saying, “What are you about to do? For this man is a Roman citizen.”

and said, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul! You must stand before Caesar, and God has graciously granted you the safety of all who are sailing with you.’

Instead someone testified somewhere: “What is man that you think of him or the son of man that you care for him?
