But now in Christ Jesus you who used to be far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

When Christ (who is your life) appears, then you too will be revealed in glory with him.

But now, put off all such things as anger, rage, malice, slander, abusive language from your mouth.

You are witnesses, and so is God, as to how holy and righteous and blameless our conduct was toward you who believe.

But you, brothers and sisters, are not in the darkness for the day to overtake you like a thief would.

For you all are sons of the light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of the darkness.

But you have dishonored the poor! Are not the rich oppressing you and dragging you into the courts?

You also be patient and strengthen your hearts, for the Lord’s return is near.

But you, dear friends – recall the predictions foretold by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.

But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith, by praying in the Holy Spirit,

In everything, treat others as you would want them to treat you, for this fulfills the law and the prophets.

He answered them, “And why do you disobey the commandment of God because of your tradition?

And he said to them, “It is written, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are turning it into a den of robbers!”

But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.

But you say that if anyone tells his father or mother, ‘Whatever help you would have received from me is corban’ (that is, a gift for God),

He said to them, “Are you so foolish? Don’t you understand that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him?

He asked them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered him, “You are the Christ.”

“You must watch out for yourselves. You will be handed over to councils and beaten in the synagogues. You will stand before governors and kings because of me, as a witness to them.

Then he said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered, “The Christ of God.”

“Take these words to heart, for the Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men.”
