And pointing toward his disciples he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers!

He told them many things in parables, saying: “Listen! A sower went out to sow.

But he said, ‘No, since in gathering the weeds you may uproot the wheat with them.

So he answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

The blind and lame came to him in the temple courts, and he healed them.

Finally he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’

Now when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?”

He said to them, “How then does David by the Spirit call him ‘Lord,’ saying,

But he replied, ‘I tell you the truth, I do not know you!’

He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

Immediately he went up to Jesus and said, “Greetings, Rabbi,” and kissed him.

He answered, “The one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will betray me.

But he said to them, “Why are you cowardly, you people of little faith?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it was dead calm.

he took the seven loaves and the fish, and after giving thanks, he broke them and began giving them to the disciples, who then gave them to the crowds.

When King Herod heard this he was alarmed, and all Jerusalem with him.

And he replied, “Every plant that my heavenly Father did not plant will be uprooted.

As he entered Jerusalem the whole city was thrown into an uproar, saying, “Who is this?”

Again he sent other slaves, more than the first, and they treated them the same way.

Although Herod wanted to kill John, he feared the crowd because they accepted John as a prophet.

and he said to his servants, “This is John the Baptist. He has been raised from the dead! And because of this, miraculous powers are at work in him.”
