He must not go where there is any dead person; he must not defile himself even for his father and his mother.

So Moses spoke these things to Aaron, his sons, and all the Israelites.

“‘No lay person may eat anything holy. Neither a priest’s lodger nor a hired laborer may eat anything holy,

You must not present anything that has a flaw, because it will not be acceptable for your benefit.

On the first day there will be a holy assembly for you; you must not do any regular work.

Indeed, any person who does not behave with humility on this particular day will be cut off from his people.

You must live in temporary shelters for seven days; every native citizen in Israel must live in temporary shelters,

“‘If, however, you do not obey me and keep all these commandments –

All the days of the desolation it will have the rest it did not have on your Sabbaths when you lived on it.

Every conversion value must be calculated by the standard of the sanctuary shekel; twenty gerahs to the shekel.

Any human being who is permanently dedicated must not be ransomed; such a person must be put to death.

“‘Any tithe of the land, from the grain of the land or from the fruit of the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord.

When a person touches anything unclean (whether human uncleanness, or an unclean animal, or an unclean detestable creature) and eats some of the meat of the peace offering sacrifice which belongs to the Lord, that person will be cut off from his people.’”

Then Moses said to Aaron and to Eleazar and Ithamar his other two sons, “Do not dishevel the hair of your heads and do not tear your garments, so that you do not die and so that wrath does not come on the whole congregation. Your brothers, all the house of Israel, are to mourn the burning which the Lord has caused,

“‘All animals that divide the hoof but it is not completely split in two and do not chew the cud are unclean to you; anyone who touches them becomes unclean.

When the seventh day comes he must shave all his hair – his head, his beard, his eyebrows, all his hair – and he must wash his clothes, bathe his body in water, and so be clean.

Nobody is to be in the Meeting Tent when he enters to make atonement in the holy place until he goes out, and he has made atonement on his behalf, on behalf of his household, and on behalf of the whole assembly of Israel.

“‘You must be sure to obey all my statutes and regulations, so that the land to which I am about to bring you to take up residence there does not vomit you out.

Say to them, ‘Throughout your generations, if any man from all your descendants approaches the holy offerings which the Israelites consecrate to the Lord while he is impure, that person must be cut off from before me. I am the Lord.
